Finish Well: Know the Inerrant Word

2 Timothy 3:1-17

 

“I have fought the good fight, I have finished the race, I have kept the faith.  Now there is in store for me the crown of righteousness, which the Lord, the righteous Judge, will award to me, on that day—and not only to me, but also to all who have longed for his appearing.”

2 Timothy 4:7-8

You can finish well as a Christ follower when you choose to stay clear of those who live active depraved lives and who try to lead others away from the gospel of grace. 3:1-9

 

You can finish well as a Christ follower when you choose to  imitate the courageous example of those who faithfully teach and live the truth of the Gospel. 3:10-13

 

You can finish well as a Christ follower when you choose to know and apply God’s inerrant word. 3:14-17

 

Application: What is your personal commitment to knowing and applying the word of God?  Do you have any relationships that need to end because they are leading you away from a life of holiness?

For prophecy never had its origin in the will of man, but men spoke from God as they were carried along by the Holy Spirit. 2 Peter 1:21

How can a young man keep his way pure?  By living according to your word.  I seek you with all my heart; do not let me stray from your commands.  I have hidden your word in my heart that I might not sin against you.  Psalm 119:9-11

 

Your word is a lamp to my feet and light for my path. Psalm 119:105
