A Deep Cleaning For Your Soul
“How much more, then, will the blood of Christ, who through the eternal Spirit offered himself unblemished to God, cleanse our consciences from acts that lead to death,
so that we may serve the living God!”
Main Point: Embrace intimacy with God by allowing the blood of Christ to cleanse your conscience.
Problem: Settling for surface level spirituality limits our relationship with God. (9:1-10)
Solution: The blood of Christ has the power to penetrate your conscience and set you free from guilt. (9:11-14)
Application: When we allow the blood of Christ to cleanse our conscience we gain access to intimacy with God. (9:15-28)
Questions for personal reflection:
- Have you been reluctant to confess sin to God?
- Would you describe your relationship to God as intimate or have been going through the motions?
- Have you been carrying around a guilty conscience?
- Would you like to be cleansed?
A prayer of repentance:
Lord Jesus, I know that I am a sinner and that I cannot save myself. By faith I receive your gift of salvation. I am ready to trust you for the forgiveness of my sins. Thank you, Jesus, for coming to earth. I believe you are the Son of God who died on the cross for my sins and rose from the dead on the third day. Thank you for bearing my sins and giving me the gift of eternal life. I believe your words are true and I place my trust in you. Come into my life, Lord Jesus, and be my Savior. Amen.
